Endoscopic Brow Lift

This advanced technique has shorter incisions, typically three to five. The incisions are placed within the hairline so that once healed, they are virtually invisible. Through an incision, an endoscope (thin tube with a tiny camera on the end) is inserted. The facial plastic surgeon can view the muscles and tissues within the forehead, lifting and tightening, and removing excess skin through another one of the incisions. This procedure has a faster recovery time and minimal scarring.

Traditional Brow Lift

For more serious sagging, a traditional surgical approach may be needed. In this procedure, an incision is placed within the hairline, from ear to ear. Through the incision, excess skin, fat, and tissue are removed. The muscles may be repositioned, and the eyebrows lifted if they have drifted lower on the forehead.

What is the Recovery Time for a Brow Lift?

The recovery time will vary based on the type of surgical technique needed:

Endoscopic brow lift recovery time: The recovery time after an endoscopic brow lift is about one week. Initially, some swelling and bruising can be expected, but these side effects are minor. Over time, the small incisions will heal within the hairline and will be virtually undetectable to others.
Traditional brow lift recovery time: The recovery time after a traditional approach will require ten days to two weeks. Swelling and bruising are to be expected, which peak at about three days. You will have prescription pain medication to keep you comfortable in the first stage of healing. You must avoid all vigorous physical activities until our facial plastic surgeon advises you it is safe. Sleep on your back and follow all aftercare instructions. After two weeks, you are ready to show off your new look, but healing will continue, with your results looking even better as time passes.
